Review Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit Review and Swatches-3

Happy Monday everyone!

I thought I start off the month with a contour kit review. I had been eyeing a few contour kits lately, as they are all the rage.  There were so many to choose from, but I decided on the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Palette.  You’ve probably already heard of this kit, and their brow pomade.  I own the brow pomade and absolutely love it!

Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Palette has six powder contouring shades.  The top row has highlighting shades (left to right) Vanilla, Banana, and Sand. The bottom row has contouring shades (left to right) Java, Fawn, and Havana. Each of these are matte, except for the color Sand which has a bit of shimmer to it.  I found each one to be very pigmented and had a silky smooth texture. I used both the Real Techniques sculpting brush and expert face brush to apply these.  I noticed that they are such a fine powder, that when using a brush the fall out of powder would make a serious mess on the palette.  So, I really recommend tapping off your brush of any excess powder before application. If you don’t tap off the excess product, you’ll notice a lot of fallout.  The darker shades produce much more fall out, or it’s just more noticeable because of the darker colors.  I’m not too sure, but it is definitely something to be aware of.  I really loved all the colors, but Banana is my favorite.  I use this shade to set my under eye concealer.  The yellow undertone masks the bluish purple dark circles fairly well.  I’m still practicing getting the perfect contour for my face.  I’ve always used bronzers to contour slightly, but this palette allows for so much more refinement to the contour process.

Essentially, I consider this to be a pretty good investment item for someone who wants a variety of highlight and contour shades in one palette.  The shades that comes in the palette make it versatile for the majority of skin tones.  For darker skin tones, Anastasia makes another palette with deeper contour shades.  Although this may seem pricey at first glance, buying a few different bronzers and a highlighter would be much more expensive than purchasing this one kit.  Also, I believe that used pans can be replaced.  That makes this contour kit much more economical in the long run.

Thank you so much for stopping by.  I hope you have an amazing day!

xo, Maria

Love this post! I need to try this, but first I need to learn how to contour. 😀

I’ve been thinking of trying contouring, and this product seems to be the most reasonable in that it contains both the contouring shades and the highlights. I will definitely look into this product. Thanks for sharing!

I have the Anastasia Contour Kit as well, and the Banana shade is my fave (use it to set my concealer as well, it’s perfect!). Loved reading your review and these pictures are stunning!

Haha! I had no idea you’d posted about this when I decided to post about mine. Honestly! That’s too funny. Anastasia’s is honestly better than Ulta’s, but I don’t contour quite enough to buy it! This is a good review!

Lol, great minds think a like! 😉 I don’t really contour that much either, and I was looking for Ulta’s version. So much more affordable! Your review is wonderful! Have a great day Jenny!

What a lovely palette! I’ve never heard of the brand before.

I’ve been hearing about this brand, but have no idea if we can get it in the UK. Enjoyed your post, but think I need more tutorials on how to contour – I haven’t got a clue!

I have this contour kit as well, and I just love it! Even though it is a bit pricey, I think you get a LOT of product and all of the powders work really well for me. I’ve had this for about a month and I’ve been using it every day, and you can’t even really tell from looking at the pans that I’ve used any of the powder!

I am generally bad with make up so I have yet to learn how to contour. I had heard that you need many shades though so this palette looks like it has all you need. 🙂

Thank you, I am not the best at contouring, so I appreciate the review. I like her eyebrow products, are there shades for red heads, some are lacking in this area. Nice review thanks

I just bought this kit about a month ago and LOVE it! I can’t say enough good things about it! Thanks for sharing!

I love this contour kit! The look is so much more flattering for me opposed to my standard powder/bronzer routine. This doesn’t seem to set into my “fine lines”. It does take time to get the perfect contour, and I think it’s different for everyone. Love the pics! 🙂

This was some great info! I’d love to see pictures! I haven’t gotten a contour palette yet, because I feel like I only need a few shades?! Do you think you’ll use all of the colors?!
